Electrical Engineer (Analog Circuits)

Position Summary:

This experienced, inquisitive, and self-motivated engineer will be charged with the creation, maintenance, and evolution of the company's precision solar cell instrumentation products. This role requires intimate familiarity with analog circuitry, operational amplifiers, signal conditioning, schematic capture and PCB layout. Familiarity with LabVIEWÔ graphical programming language a plus.

Required Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree in EE or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Extensive experience with analog circuits for instrumentation
  • Proficiency with schematic capture and circuit board layout software and practices
  • Understanding of terms and principles of mechanics, physics, optics, and metrology
  • Understanding of electrical signals and circuitry for signal conditioning
  • Appreciation for, and design orientation toward, optimal user experience
  • Experience developing and maintaining engineering process for product release and document control
  • Experience interfacing with manufacturing personnel
  • Ability to communicate clearly with engineers and customers
  • Skill and experience writing concise and complete engineering and manufacturing documentation
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to routinely achieve exceptional accuracy and quality in detail-oriented tasks

Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in hardware-based technology and/or manufacturing business
  • Experience with Altium PCB design software
  • Experience managing certification processes such as CE and UL
  • Information systems management experience
  • Knowledge of photovoltaics-industry technology and principles

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Integrate custom circuitry, data-acquisition components, and software for measurement instruments
  • Add customized features to standard product in conjunction with customer requests
  • Design and prototype circuitry for signal amplification and conditioning and motor and solenoid control
  • Design power, control, and signal circuitry at the system level
  • Utilize engineering processes for product release, revisions, and document control
  • Write and maintain manufacturing and end-user product documentation
  • Work with documentation personnel to ensure accurate depiction of product capabilities and usage in internal and external documentation
  • Work with manufacturing personnel to ensure proper production process for products developed and built
  • Work with management to identify and prioritize engineering projects
  • Perform other tasks as assigned

Software Engineer (LabVIEW™)

Position Summary:

This experienced, inquisitive, and self-motivated software engineer will be charged with the creation, maintenance, and evolution of data acquisition and control software for the company’s precision solar instrumentation products. This role requires intimate familiarity with LabVIEWÔ graphical programming language with emphasis in data acquisition and orientation toward user experience. This position reports to the Director of Engineering.

Required Qualifications:

· Engineering degree in EE or CS or equivalent relevant work experience

· At least one year full-time experience in LabVIEW™ graphical programming language

· Experience and knowledge of data acquisition best practices

· Appreciation for, and design orientation toward optimal user experience

· Ability to communicate with engineers and customers alike

· Experience with and knowledge of software revision control best practices

· Excellent organizational skills

· Ability to routinely achieve exceptional accuracy and quality in detail-oriented tasks


Desired Qualifications:

· Prior experience in hardware-based technology and/or manufacturing business

· Experience integrating LabVIEW™-created software with external databases and the internet

· Experience interfacing LabVIEW™-created software with factory automation equipment

· Knowledge of GUI programming languages other than LabVIEW™

· Information systems management experience a plus

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Rapidly develop familiarity with existing LabVIEW™-based  software modules such that existing products can be supported, maintained and evolved

· Add customized features to standard product software in conjunction with customer requests

· Write novel code in conjunction with new and existing hardware product offerings

· Work with manufacturing personnel to ensure proper production process for software bound for customers

· Work with documentation personnel to ensure accurate depiction of software capabilities and usage in internal and external documentation

· Work with management to identify and prioritize electrical engineering projects
